Today we have Faisal Khan of Motor Beam with us to talk about his journey of being India’s leading automobile influencer. Read on to know more about him.

Team Zefmo: Tell us something about yourself

Faisal: My name is Faisal Khan, I am the founder of MotorBeam Digital. Our website and YouTube channel has the highest engagement among all similar genre websites and YouTube channels. I am also an influencer and run my own YouTube channel (by my name) which shows automobile content in a different light.

Since childhood, cars and bikes have been of great interest to me, right from watching Formula 1 to Jeremy Clarkson. Automobiles fascinated me from school days and I started writing about them on the internet when I was in school.

TZ: How has your journey as an influencer been so far?

F: It has been an exciting journey! As being an influencer has its own set of challenges but the love from fans has been crazy which keeps me going.

TZ: Which social networks do you prefer?

F: YouTube and Instagram.

TZ: Who are your 2 favourite Instagram Influencers?

F: I don’t follow many people on Instagram but one of my favourite YouTube channels would be The Grand Tour.

TZ: How did you feel when you reached your first 10,000 followers? Did you ever think you would make it this far?

F: It was an amazing feeling, more so because it lets you change to a business profile and have the swipe-up benefit. I never thought about reaching any milestone, quality content consistently was the only thing on my mind.

TZ: Imagine if you did not have access to your account for a week: what impact would it have on your life and what would change in your daily routine?

F: It would have a big impact because my day starts with a good morning to all my followers and many of them wait for my stories to come. I am so into Instagramming, I will feel awkward and empty without my account even for a day, let alone a week.

TZ: What was your favourite collaboration with a brand?

F: It was with OnePlus, when I did an image post with their McLaren edition phone as I am a big fan of the British supercar brand and it felt quite natural to endorse the same. Also, the image turned out quite nice with me in complete motorcycle riding attire.

TZ: What tips would you give to Instagrammers who would like to become influencers?

F: Be consistent, work on captions, take quality pictures (avoid phone clicks), edit pics in Lightroom (don’t rely on Insta filters) and definitely have your own style, it works.

TZ: Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

F: Hopefully a million Instagram followers and 5 million subscribers on YouTube, or maybe something new but in the digital space.

Stay tuned to know more about the next influencer.
